1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using nyay (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

nyay is an AI-powered legal information assistant that provides general legal information based on Indian law. It offers:

• AI-generated answers grounded in official Indian law with citations
• Document drafting templates (consumer complaints, RTI, Sec 138, FIR)
• Legal information across domains: Consumer, RTI, NI Act, FIR, Cyber Fraud

nyay provides general legal information, not legal advice. It is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified lawyer.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use nyay. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Account & Registration

• Email-based authentication with OTP (no passwords)
• You must provide accurate information (name, birth date, state, language)
• You are responsible for keeping your email secure
• One account per person; no sharing or transferring accounts

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use nyay for illegal activities or to facilitate crimes
• Attempt to reverse engineer, extract, or replicate the AI models
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Interfere with service integrity (rate limit evasion, DoS, etc.)
• Use outputs for illegal purposes or as substitute for legal counsel in binding matters

6. Intellectual Property

• nyay's brand, code, design, and proprietary algorithms are owned by nyay
• Legal texts (acts, regulations, judgments) are public domain / government works
• Your inputs and generated outputs: you retain rights to your inputs; outputs are for your personal use
• You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service itself

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

• No guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or reliability of answers
• No warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• No warranty that outputs are suitable for any particular legal purpose
• Laws change; nyay may not reflect the latest amendments immediately

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, nyay and its affiliates shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, opportunities, or goodwill
• Any legal consequences arising from reliance on nyay outputs
• Any amount exceeding ₹1,000 or fees paid in the last 12 months (whichever is greater)

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless nyay from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account anytime via Settings. Provisions that should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnification) survive termination.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
